Abstract Face Portrait

Here you can find my mini-tutorial that shows how to draw a head. I learned this technique a very long time ago in Cracow from some sympathetic graffiti artist. It's very easy, and just follow the images below to see how to draw the character's head.

Air USB Key

Let's start by creating a New Document which is 1000 pixels wide by 1000 pixels high, set the Resolution to 300 pixels/inch, and the Background to white. Grab the Rectangular Marquee Tool, then set the style to Fixed Size with a Width of 100 px and Height of 240 px. Drag four guides around the selection, as shown in the below image, then Deselect by hitting Command + D.

Bangin’ Woofer

Create a new document that is 800 px wide and 800 px high at a resolution of 300 pixels/inch. Drag one horizontal and one vertical guide and snap them in the middle of the document. Fill the "Background" layer with 65% gray.

Basic Vexel

Get started by creating a new document 768px by 1024px and paste this image in. Delete the background layer. Then add a new white Solid Color Fill Layer.

Brilliant Vector

Instead of the background, we will first build all the base vector shapes using the Pen Tool (P). All vector shapes will reside on their own layers.

Citrus Fruit

Start with a black canvas for the sake of simplicity. Create a layer called "orange," and draw a quick rough circle. The color doesn't matter; we're about to cover it up anyway. Now, you could have made something with the circle marquee tool, but where's the fun in that? Imperfection makes it look more natural!

Classic Guitar

Create a new document with a width of 600px and height of 1000px. Set the resolution to 100 and Background contents to White. Fill the "Background" layer with #dbdbdb. Drag one horizontal and one vertical guide to the center of the canvas. Press D to load the default foreground and background colors.

Classic Look of an Engraving

The printing technique known as engraving, is a process by which an intaglio matrix (or metal plate) is incised with a design, then is used for printing images on paper. By using Displacement Maps in a creative way, I was able to recreate that look. I began with an illustration. For this tutorial, I sketched a picture of Alice from the famous Lewis Carroll story, and inserted it on a layer named "Line Art."

Complete Vexel

Ok what you should know before starting to read this tutorial is that there are many ways to make a vexel. This is just one way that I've developed to make a realistic vexel using the traditional techniques.

Cute Easter Wallpaper

Create a new Photoshop document (Ctrl + N). Size isn't important for now. Set a white background, select the Ellipse Tool (U), and draw two ellipses—the base of our chick. While drawing, press the Shift key to have both ellipses in one layer. Also, don't forget to draw the shapes as a Shape Layer (first icon in the menu bar), so we can modify them later.
